Bio

Matthew Rosen joined Horing Welikson Rosen & Digrugilliers PC as an associate in 2019. Prior to joining the firm, Matthew was an associate at the international law firm Akin Gump, where he specialized in representing debtors and creditors in connection with bankruptcy matters and out-of-court financing restructurings.

Matthew’s role in the firm focuses on Landlord-Tenant litigation in New York City and its surrounding areas. He routinely appears in both the Residential and Commercial Parts of the Queens County Housing Court handling non-payment and holdover proceedings, as well as defending against Housing Maintenance Code violations in the Housing Court’s HP Part. Matthew also handles civil litigation matters stemming from landlord/tenant issues.  He is actively involved in the firm’s Commercial Litigation Department, where he handles court conferences, reviews contracts and discovery documents, drafts pleadings and motions, and assists in preparing witnesses for examinations before trial as well as assisting in trial preparation.

Matthew received his JD from Hofstra University School of Law, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. As a student at Hofstra University School of Law, Matthew was a member of the Hofstra Law Review, as well as of the Real Estate Law Association. Prior to that, he earned his undergraduate degree from Arizona State University.  He also received a Master’s Degree in Education from St. John’s University.

Matthew is admitted to practice law in the State of New York and the Federal Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
